The One and Only Niki Em Hails the First Annual HALLOWYNWOOD
CultureDesigners.com Oct 25, 2012
Halloween comes around but once a year; the First Annual HALLOWYNWOOD, in contrast, happens but once in a lifetime. That’s why all the kooky cool creatives who live, work and/or play in the ‘hood known as Wynwood will be getting their spook on at The Armory this Saturday night. The way Niki Em explains it, we can all expect to have the single most fabulous fright night of our wild lives. Read on, you ghoulish guys and gals!
What the hell is HALLOWYNWOOD?
HALLOWYNWOOD is a celebration of creativity for all ages. Considering Wynwood is home to Miami’s creative movement, the holiday fits like a glove. Dress up!!! Get your spook on!!! Let ur Freak out!!! … Join us!!!
Who all will be making a racket that night?
We’ve an amazing line-up: Beatmachines, Krisp, and DJ John.
Any other special spookiness we need to know about?
Yes, there will be pop up performances (courtesy of Ramona Loves Hoops), a costume contest, a pinata raffle, a haunted gallery (from Miami’s Independent Thinkers), a magical marketplace (by 305 Green), photo ops, a bar full of bloody brews and creepy cocktails, and fabulous trick or treat gift bags (including Kilwins Chocolates)!
Who came up with such a shady idea anyway?
Although I am definitely tying the ends together and Product/81 is sponsoring, it’s not about who came up with the idea but rather it is about who has the vision to come out and represent their own personal creativity and be part of this 1st Annual HALLOWYNWOOD Costume Parade. This event is about expressing ourselves and what we do; from the public that comes dressed up, to the vendors with their stylized merchandise, to the artists exhibiting in the Haunted Gallery and the amazing production crew that is decorating the venue.
Why’d you decide to haunt The Armory?
The Armory is perfectly situated on 23rd Street with plenty of parking as well as secure indoor/outdoor area for us all to parade around in costume in the heart of the Wynwood Graffiti/Art District.
